This debut album from the Los Angeles comedian/performer includes studio versions of songs featured in his upcoming HBO COMEDY® special “Whitmer Thomas: The Golden One,” debuting Saturday, Feb. 22 (10:00-11:05 p.m. ET/PT), exclusively on HBO.
Songs from The Golden One releases digitally on Friday, February 21st and the HBO special airs Saturday, February 22nd. The record will be available on CD and "Golden One yellow" vinyl on Friday, April 3rd. You can hear leadoff single "Partied to Death" above. The song--about his mother's premature death due to substance abuse--is pure Whitmer: blunt, confessional, hilarious, sad, and somehow insanely catchy.
Songs from The Golden One features two exclusive tracks (“The Codependent Enabler” and “Dancing With My Dad”) and was recorded in Los Angeles with production by Jona Bechtolt and Rob Kieswetter of electro-pop band YACHT. Whitmer was recently named one of the "Best New Up-and-coming Comedians to Watch" by Vulture and has previously appeared in GLOW, The Good Place, and more.
