Born in Norristown, PA and raised between Pennsylvania and California, Keba’s musical inspirations span folk, experimental pop, post punk, indie rock and soul. She grew up in a Jamaican household where the sounds that filled the air ran the gamut of roots reggae acts like Burning Spear and Third World and singer-songwriters of the 60s and 70 like Carole King and The Mamas and the Papas, which developed her original love of singing and pure melody.

Keba’s early days as Crosslegged were inextricable from the creative community that she built with friends through fests and art shows she helped plan between NYC and Norristown, PA. Eventually she became operations manager at Silent Barn in its later years and since then has helped to run a string of arts organizations in NYC. In the coming months, Keba is also excited to be releasing a new album called Another Blue on January 27th, 2023 which can be pre-ordered here.

Keba says of “In A Way,” “As I’ve grown, I've learned a lot about my body and how stories get held in our flesh. This song explores one little corner of new relationships to self as it pertains to healing one's body. On a certain kind of path, you're pushed to contemplate how you nourish or punish yourself or situations around you and how those patterns lead to sickness or health over time — living in fear or love. I had a lot of fun making this track with collaborators new and old after a long period of focusing on other musical projects.”
