Chastity Belt announce UK tour; on the road with Protomartyr now

After an incredibly welcome reception for their inaugural, six-week (!) European tour last Fall, Chastity Belt are once again crossing the Atlantic this Spring for a run of UK dates. The band is currently on tour with labelmates Protomartyr, opening up a series of West Coast performances, including tonight’s sold-out show in San Francisco. Tacocat announce Fall U.S. tour dates, share “I Live For The Sun” cover

Seattle band Tacocat will be capping off their already-incredible 2016 with another nationwide tour this September/October–including a headlining show at Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg–with even more dates TBA. Head here for a full list of upcoming shows, including next month’s West Coast run with The Regrettes.

The band’s also heralding the arrival of summer weather with a cover version of The Sunray’s 1965 gem “I Live For The Sun,” which you can stream here.

Despite having recently relocated to Los Angeles, La Luz – whose 2015 metaphysical rave-up Weirdo Shrine was the subject of many well-deserved critical plaudits – are already hitting the road once again. Tacocat share new single “Talk” and theme song for Cartoon Network’s The Powerpuff Girls

This morning, Pitchfork shared the news that Tacocat are the performers of “Who’s Got the Power?”, the new theme song for Cartoon Network’s re-imagining of The Powerpuff Girls, airing this Spring. They also shared “Talk,” the second single from the band’s highly-anticipated new album Lost Time, which is due out on LP, CD, digital, and cassette formats on April 1st, 2016. I hate the weekend 1

Today, Stereogum premiered “I Hate the Weekend,” the first music video from Tacocat’s highly-anticipated new record Lost Time. Director Jessica Aceti’s clip features the band performing at a candy-crazed house party in what may well be Hardly Art’s first-ever video with a credited pyrotechnics expert. We are also announcing our official SXSW showcase today: on Thursday, March 17th, Hardly Art will be hosting an “Official Brand Awareness Showcase” at Cheer Up Charlie’s (900 Red River St.). Ever-busy, widely-beloved Seattle rock group Chastity Belt will embark to Australia this fall for a run of shows in the homeland of their onetime-tourmate Courtney Barnett. In addition, they’ve shared new August tour dates along the West Coast, and will headline a sold-out show at Brooklyn’s Market Hotel tonight featuring labelmates Colleen Green and IAN SWEET. Their current East Coast/Midwest tour includes an appearance at this month’s Sled Island music festival in Calgary.
